The B parameter
What it does
Bootstrap resamples count: a whole number of at least 1.
Resamples whose model cannot be fitted are dropped; when fewer than B remain, Meta shows them as "8 of 50", and with fewer than half of B the interval is left empty.
Another value is an error: "B must be a whole number of at least 1 (e.g. 2000), got 20.5".
Values
Optional; default 2000.
Should be a whole number of at least 1
In plain words
A nurse asked the computer to redraw her 30 kids many times, picking them again at random, and to work out the extra test points that go with one more hour of sleep. With B set to 100 redraws, the range came out 4 to 13 points, and a second run gave 6 to 11: the ends jumped around. With B set to 2000, both runs gave 5 to 12 points, the ends moving by less than a point. More redraws give a steadier range, but the formula takes longer. If some redraws cannot be worked out, the report shows how many were used, such as 8 of 50, and with fewer than half there is no range.
